So, do we feel sorry for Molly? Just a little perhaps?

OK, maybe not. But she sure as heck feels sorry for herself tonight when Rosie happens to mention how much attention Kevin is currently giving Sally. Following another bust up with Tyrone's nightmare of a mum, Molly breaks down in tears, telling Auntie Pam what a mess she's made of her life (what a mess Molly has made, I mean, not Pam – that would be just plain rude).

Elsewhere, Tina is shocked, although I’m not sure why, to hear the soap police suspect Gail of her dad's murder (Tina’s dad, that is, not Gail’s – I’m not explaining this as well as I could, am I?). She (Tina) then informs her (Gail) – honestly, I wish I’d never started this now – that she won't be welcome at Joe's funeral.

First Cut: White boy, black nanny
Channel 4, 7.30pm

In the latest of these excellent First Cut films, up-and-coming documentary director Mark Rossiter heads back home to South Africa to track down the nanny who raised him for more than a decade during the apartheid years.

Mark is keen to establish what’s happened to her since, and also to reflect on his own childhood under that oppressive regime.
