ABOVE: Primark is set to become a force in Europe
BUDGET clothes shop Primark is poised to become a major force in European retailing as rivals see their sales squeezed by the economic downturn, says industry analyst Verdict Research.
Verdict’s Daniel Lucht said: “Primark is set to take up the torch of the sharpest and most feared retailer in the British Isles.”
He said the chain, owned by FTSE 100 group Associated British Foods, was being boosted by unemployment and a dearth of credit.
