WOOLY'S WEEKEND WAGERS

ABOVE: Rooney should fill his boots at Wembley today against Slovenia
5th September 2009

By Brian Woolnough

WOOLY'S WORLD

WAYNE ROONEY and Jermain Defoe are the two in-form English strikers and they should fill their boots at Wembley today against Slovenia.

Rooney is 7-2 to get the first goal and 10-1 to grab a hat-trick. Defoe is 7-2 to be first on the scoresheet and also 10-1 for a treble.

England are 14-1 to win 5-0 and it’s 16-1 if they fail to score in a 0-0 draw. A 1-0 win is 6-1.

The full-backs should get a lot of space and Ashley Cole is 33-1 to score first and Glen Johnson 18-1.

Scotland must beat Macedonia to have a chance of reaching the World Cup and are 8-11 favourites.

They are, however, 4-1 to reach South Africa with manager George Burley 15-8 to be sacked before the end of the month.
