BRITS are turning up the temperature to celebrate the hottest Valentine’s Day ever today.

The credit crunch and Arctic conditions may have us down in the dumps, but millions of loved-up Brits are planning to make the day go with a bang.

Cash-strapped Casanovas are set to be the world leaders in Valentine’s Day nookie tonight.

Shops have slashed the prices of romantic favourites like roses, champagne and chocolates.

And online discount stores have seen sexy lingerie orders soar through the roof.

Restaurants are giving away two-for-one meal deals, and hotels are offering a room for a night of nookie for up to half-price.

Today is also set to be a sex-text-fest as millions of saucy Brits send saucy messages.

One in 10 will send a “flirty” text while a naughty 4% will be sending “explicit” messages.

But happy couples watch out – 6% of the naughtiest texts will be to someone’s else’s wife or girlfriend.

James Parker, mobiles manager at moneysupermarket.com, said: “It seems Brits will be giving a bit of ‘textual healing’.

A Valentine’s text is the easy way to tell someone you like them. You can send a message from the safety of your own home and don’t have to deal with any possible embarrassing rejections.”

Meanwhile last-minute gift hunters can pick up a present guaranteed to cause a stir under the covers – a his ’n hers “love map”.
