RAPIST, 14, HAD LIFE ON DRUGS

ABOVE: Jordan Webster was known to take cocaine
20th October 2008

By Jerry Lawton

A boy of 14 hooked on drugs raped a woman at knifepoint after breaking into her home at 4.30am.

Jordan Webster, who has 63 previous convictions, targeted the woman two weeks after she had told him off for hanging around in her garden.

The twisted teen was addicted to cocaine, cannabis and ecstasy when he climbed into her house through a kitchen window, armed with a knife.

He woke the 58-year-old victim and told her: “Be quiet or I will slit your throat. Don’t say anything or I will knife you.”

The woman desperately offered him cash to leave, but Webster told her: “I don’t want money – I want sex.”

The schoolboy raped her as he held the 3in blade to her throat.

After snatching the sheet from her bed in an attempt to remove forensic evidence, Webster took her keys and stole her car.

He was snared after a two-mile police chase and even attacked the police dog that tracked him.

Webster was only arrested after the dog bit him on the leg.

DNA tests identified him as the rapist and a witness who saw him driving away picked him out at an identity parade. Leeds Crown Court heard the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was so traumatised she still cannot return to her house.

Webster, of Normanton, near Leeds, was jailed indefinitely and must serve at least five years after admitting rape and aggravated burglary.

Judge Kerry Macgill ruled the crime so horrific that he lifted an order that normally stops young offenders being identified.

The judge told him: “What on earth are we coming to in this world when a boy of 14 can not only acquire that record but then go on to do what you did that day?

“It must be every victim’s worst nightmare to awake from a deep sleep and find an intruder armed with a knife. It is truly a picture of horror.”

Webster was made to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life and told not to return to Normanton or contact his victim.

Prosecutor Neil Clark told the court that even after the rape, the woman was so terrified he might kill her that she gave her attacker £5 in a desperate attempt to make him leave.

He added: “Since the incident she has become very emotional, often tearful and cannot to return to her own home.”

Mr Clark said the teen had an appalling criminal record and had breached an Asbo several times.
