CARING PHIL SCHOFIELD IN A VIGIL FOR DAD

TELLY star Phillip Schofield has spent weeks in hospital - caring for his seriously ill dad.

The Dancing on Ice host even slept by his sick father's side to comfort him as he battled illness.

Devoted Phillip, 45, would dash from the TV studios to see 72-year-old Brian in London's Royal Brompton Hospital.

And he even dossed down on a camp bed in the same hospital room.

It is not known which illness he has, but since Friday Brian has been cared for at his home.

The former French polisher and his wife live very close to Phillip and his wife Stephanie, 41, in Henley-on-Thames, Oxon.

Dad-of-two Phillip has taken this week off from presenting ITV1's This Morning.

A spokesman for This Morning said: "Phillip's father has been very ill.

The family have been with him constantly and now he is home."

Patients and staff at the hospital praised Phillip for is care and attention he has lavished at such a difficult time.

One said: "It's obvious they share a deep bond."
