CROOKERS GET HELP FROM FRIENDS

ABOVE: Dance-bods Crookers
9th February 2010

WELL-connected dance bods Crookers have christened their bangin’ debut album Tons Of Friends, but the title does them a disservice.

Italian DJs Phra and Bot, both 27, have remixed everyone from U2 to Kid Cudi, 26, and now they’ve called in favours from Róisín Murphy, 36, Kelis, 30 and Will.i.am, 34, for their delicious debut.

Hip house fanatic Phra explained: “It took us over two years to make this album because we didn’t want instrumentals and had to work with singers via email.

“Will.i.am sent us an MP3 with a rap on it and we took it from there.

“We see it as a double favour because now these artists want us to help work on their own records.”

They call themselves Crookers as their music “is not perfect and clean, you can hear a human touch”.

Blissed-out first single Remedy featuring Norwegian trio Miike Snow is out February 28.
