GAZZA BRAWLS TWO DAYS IN A ROW

TROUBLED football legend Paul Gascoigne was involved in a brawl yesterday, an hour after being freed from a police cell.

The ex-England star had spent a night in the nick after he and a pal were allegedly found drunk in a van after a boozy fishing trip.

But when police let the 42-year-old footballer out on bail, he went straight back to the bar.

Then he lashed out at a photographer who had spotted him supping a pint of lager in the Blackwell Grange Hotel, near Darlington, Co Durham.

Gazza grabbed Paul Kingston and tried to drag him into the hotel, but the cameraman struggled free.

Last night he and new heavyweight buddy Michael Harvey, 40, dubbed Six Bellies by pals, were holed up inside “laughing, joking and boozing”.

A shocked fellow guest said: “It was sad to see one of my heroes in such a state. They were clearly in the same clothes they’d been wearing the day before.

“The pair of them looked like tramps. Gazza looked like he hadn’t washed. He had dirty fingernails, scratches on his face and blue pool chalk around his eyes.

“And his pal was wearing a blue sweater with horrible stains down the front – either pizza or puke.”

Gazza and Harvey were charged with being drunk in charge of a vehicle in Leeming Bar, North Yorks, on Sunday night. The former Newcastle, Spurs, Lazio, Rangers and Everton star had spent the weekend teaching his new pal, a married launderette boss who lives near him, to fish.

They allegedly drove to a takeaway after being seen drinking in local pubs, and abused an off-duty police officer who confronted them.

They were arrested and released on bail yesterday.
