CORONATION STREET: BECKY AND STEVE TO ADOPT

CORRIE’S Becky and Steve McDonald will be the Brangelina of Weatherfield when they decide to adopt a child.

The pair, left, are desperate to have a child of their own.

But Becky (Katherine Kelly, 30) is told she will never be able to carry a baby full term. And after two miscarriages they decide to adopt, just like Hollywood celebrity couple Brad Pitt, 46, and Angelina Jolie, 34.

But when Steve (Simon Gregson, 33) suggests the idea his wife sarcastically tells him: “Just who do you think I am?

“I’ll tell you who I’m not and that’s Angelina Jolie or Madonna.

“We can’t just run around willy-nilly adopting kids like some demented super-celebrity.

“And besides, I’m not having other people’s cast-offs.”

But after discussing adoption at length with her best mate Hayley Cropper (Julie Hesmondhalgh, 39), Becky comes round to the idea.

She eventually tells Steve: “Let’s do it, let’s adopt.

“We’d love it to bits. No baby will ever be loved more.”

A show source said: “Our outgoing producer Kim Crowther has been determined to have an adoption storyline in the show for ages.

“Last year it was on the cards that a broody Liz McDonald would adopt a child but Bev Callard, who plays Liz, had to take several months off.”
