RILEY STARS AS WOLVES RUN RIOT

Chris Riley scored five tries as Warrington ran riot to open their Engage Super League campaign with a crushing 58-0 defeat of Harlequins on Sunday.

Six other Wolves players touched down in an outstanding performance at the Halliwell Jones Stadium that avenged a 60-8 loss to the same opponents last year.

Wolves coach Tony Smith said: "I feel for them having been on the other side at The Stoop last season but not too sorry for them. We have some very good attacking players and the new arrivals all did well."

Harlequins, who have now lost twice this season, were without a number of key players through injury and suspension but coach Brian McDermott offered no excuses.

"We have not too much to build on for next week and that's my main concern," he said.

Peter Fox touched down twice in the opening seven minutes as Hull KR eased past Salford 30-12 in their opener at Craven Park.

Michael Dobson added a try and five goals while Jake Webster and Clint Newton also got on the scoresheet. Salford's replies came from Matty Smith and Jodie Broughton.

Wakefield youngster Dale Morton also grabbed a brace as the Wildcats came from behind to beat Catalans Dragons 28-20 at the Hearwell Stadium.

Glenn Morrison added to the recovery by claiming his first Wakefield try, adding to earlier efforts from Dale Ferguson and Luke George.

Catalans, already without playmaker Thomas Bosc and star forward Jamal Fakir, were further weakened by the loss of Clint Greenshields through illness on the morning of the game. They still led twice after scores from Dimitri Pelo, Olivier Elima and Sebastian Martins but Wakefield took control in the second half and Chris Walker's late try was mere consolation.
