£50K-A-DAY COWELL

ABOVE: His Simco Ltd firm raked in nearly £50,000 a day from the reality hits
8th February 2010

By Daily Star Reporter

SIMON Cowell’s TV company made record profits of more than £21million last year from The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent.

His Simco Ltd firm raked in nearly £50,000 a day from the reality hits, which are the UK’s most-watched shows.

Official figures showed it made £21.1m profit in the 15 months to March last year, a rise of 65% on the 2008 figure.

Simco, formed in 2002 and sold to record label Sony BMG for £43m in 2005, enjoyed UK earnings alone of £6m.

Cowell is now set to boost his £123m fortune after quitting American Idol to launch a US version of The X Factor. The rights to the show will be owned by him, via his new company Syco.
