TRAGIC DAD WAS HIDING FINANCIAL CRISIS
FRIENDS wept yesterday at a service for the tragic family wiped out by a father thought to be facing financial ruin.
Frankie McFall, 18, and her mum Susan, 55, were found smothered to death at their home last week. [>

It emerged last night that dad Hugh McFall, 48 – who was found hanged at his flower shop – had blown thousands on lavish holidays as his business failed. [>
[>
He even treated Frankie’s boyfriend to a trip to Monte Carlo. [>

Heartbroken Tony Millington, 18, who went out with Frankie for 13 months, said he had been staggered at her father’s generosity. He said yesterday: “There was no expense spared. It was a memory I’ll always treasure. [>
[>
“We had a blast. They didn’t seem to think about the cost.’’ [>
[>
Police believe Mr McFall had hidden his cash crisis from his family. [>
[>
They are also investigating whether he had an illness he kept secret from his family. [>

Sales assistant Tony split from Frankie four months ago. She had been due to attend a Valentine’s Ball with another boy the day of the tragedy. [>
[>
But Tony said: “Frankie was very special to me. She was beautiful, bright and bubbly.’’ [>
[>
Rev Simon Thorburn said it was too soon to assess the impact of “the horrible event’’ on the community. [>
[>
He spoke as 145 worshippers gathered at St Oswald King and Martyr Church, near the family home in Oswestry, Shrops. [>
[>
Police are expecting the results of post-mortem examinations on the trio later today. [>
