CROWN ROVER (9.02), winner of the £20,000 Grand Prix over course and distance last summer, is strongly fancied to make a successful reappearance over 640m at Sunderland tonight – live in betting shops.
WESTMEAD Osprey (9.45), boasting an incredible eight from eight record at the galloping track including last year’s Produce Stakes, is impossible to oppose in tonight’s £8,000 Betfair Arc final over 480m at Swindon.
IT WAS a long time coming but the mighty Paul Nicholls - Ruby Walsh combination had to wait until the last before getting a winner at Taunton yesterday.

MUHANNAK MY MARATHON MAN

DAILY STAR SUNDAY
ABOVE: Muhannak
1st November 2009

By Paul Jacobs

THE Breeders’ Cup is my favourite meeting of the year.

Trainers with proven  track records do well and John Gosden used to train at Santa Anita.

He is one of the few handlers to have trained horses on both sides of the Atlantic and he may be able to strike again in the Juvenile Turf with

He has a wonderful quick action and is one of the best balanced youngsters around.

The forgotten horse of the meeting is last year’s Marathon winner

MUHANNAK, above. He has been given a steady build-up to Friday’s opening contest and ran a great warm-up race at Ascot when fifth to Mawatheeq in the Cumberland Lodge.

My final selection is unoriginal but safe.

CONDUIT comes into his own at this time of the year and he looks sure to be involved in the finish to the Turf.
