ROY: WE SHOULD ENJOY A GOOD FIGHT

ABOVE: Keane needs a win
17th October 2009

By Brendan Abbott

IPSWICH boss Roy Keane has urged his struggling side to enjoy their plight at the bottom of the Championship.

Keane sends his players into battle against in-form Swansea at Portman Road today still searching for their first win of the season.

Paulo Sousa’s mid-table team are unbeaten in a five-game spell that has seen them leak only one goal.

Keane admitted: “I never thought we would go 11 games without a win. We are desperate for one – no matter how scrappy it is.

“The challenge that lies ahead is a massive one but it’s one to be enjoyed – not endured.

“We got involved in football from a young age because we enjoyed it. We loved the game.

“If you are going to succeed in any walk of life you will have to deal with disappointment and football’s no different.

“But our record is unacceptable and we need to do better – it’s as simple as that.”
