JAYCEE IS SO BRAVE

15th October 2009

THE 18-year kidnap ordeal of Jaycee Lee Duggard shocked the world.

She was snatched by paedophile Phillip Garrido, who brainwashed her, raped her and fathered two children by her.

Today we publish the first picture taken of Jaycee since her release.

And, amazingly, she looks stunning.

Fresh-faced, smiling, wavy hair – she looks younger than her 29 years.

Of course, we do not know what is going on underneath, or how she will fare in the coming years.

But Jaycee seems to have no fears, saying: “I’m so happy to be back with my family.”

What a strong and impressive character Jaycee has turned out to be.

Evil scumbag Garrido may have imprisoned and abused her.

But clearly he never crushed her spirit.

Time's up for cheats

MPs are squealing like pigs on the way to the slaughterhouse.

Yesterday it emerged that the sums they’re being asked to return in dodgy expenses are bigger than expected.

Tory Bernard Jenkin, for example, is said to have been given a bill for £50,000.

And Labour backbencher Anne Moffat faces a £30,000 payback.

Many MPs plan a rebellion against the cash demands despite orders from party leaders to pay up.

They whinge that they are being treated unfairly, with new rules being imposed retrospectively.

But we’ve no sympathy for them.

The MPs have always been required to make “reasonable and genuine” claims.

It’s evident from Sir Thomas Legg’s inquiry that hundreds were simply milking the system.

If they don’t comply, voters will put them on a par with benefit cheats.

Meal Deal

Kerry Katona has sold her story to the Daily Star for a £5 kebab takeaway.

It probably seemed like a good idea at the time...
