GIVE OUR CASH BACK
THERE aren’t many MPs who struggle by on the breadline.
But you would think from the bleating we have heard in the past 48 hours that some of them haven’t got two pennies to rub together.
They claim it is unfair that they should have to repay expenses that are now judged to have been excessive.
Members like Ann Widdecombe – normally a voice of reason – say they should be able to keep the money.
Tell that to the public who are rightly outraged at the amounts that have been claimed.
Yesterday Gordon Brown and David Cameron threatened to expel anyone who refused to hand the cash back.
That’s the least they should do. Anyone who doesn’t should be hauled in front of the courts.
