In fifty-three weeks ...

... we'll probably be somewhere in the middle of a one-year-on retrospective about Jade Goody.

In that time:

over a million people worldwide will have died of malaria worldwide;

an estimated 120,000 people will have died from cholera around the world;

around 40,000 people will have died of sleeping sickness in Africa;

"up to 17,000 women" will have been subjected to "honour-related", aka domestic, violence in the UK;

an estimated 5,000 girls and women will have been murdered in the name of some twisted "honour" worldwide;

over a hundred women will have been killed by an abusive partner here in the UK

and another two hundred and fifty or so will have committed suicide to get away from one.

A little perspective, please?

RE: In fifty-three weeks ......

think the undetakers are wrong for paying for her funeral.She made enough money to pay for it herself.when menbers of my family died no one hepled me to pay for funeral costs.wish the press would stop comparing her to princess diana at least diana cared fro the public.
